On 13 October 2025, Lëtz Art entered a new creative chapter with a remarkable literary event held in collaboration with the Institut Pierre Werner at the Centre Culturel Machera in Grevenmacher. The evening marked the Luxembourg presentation of Cave 72, the acclaimed and award-winning novel by Congolese writer Fann Attiki, whose rising prominence in contemporary African literature has resonated far beyond his home country.

The conversation, moderated by Uyi Nosa-Odia, offered an intimate and captivating journey through Attiki’s literary life. Together, they explored his unexpected path into writing, the influences that shaped Cave 72, and the wider cultural and social reflections embedded in his work. Attiki spoke with disarming sincerity about the discipline, imagination and resilience that underpin his craft, and his reflections opened a meaningful window into the world of a writer whose voice is becoming increasingly influential across the francophone literary landscape.

The audience was particularly moved by the poetry slam session, during which Attiki performed a selection of his pieces with a depth and emotional intensity that filled the room. His words resonated strongly with participants, creating a moment of collective stillness and recognition. This artistic interlude added a vibrant dimension to the event, illustrating the fluidity with which Attiki crosses literary forms.

An engaging Q&A session followed, allowing participants to delve deeper into his creative process, his views on modern African storytelling and the themes that guide his narrative choices. The discussion revealed not only the curiosity of the audience but also the appetite for more literary encounters of this kind within the community.

The evening concluded with a book signing and a convivial networking session. Attendees had the opportunity to speak directly with the author, exchange thoughts with one another and reflect on the importance of spaces that bring literature to life. The event received the warm support of the City of Grevenmacher and was honoured by the presence of members of the communal council, including the mayor and deputy mayor, whose attendance underscored the cultural significance of the occasion.

This event represented a milestone for Lëtz Art. It served as both an introduction and an inspiration for our new initiative, Lëtz Lit, a programme dedicated to promoting local and international literature in Luxembourg. Through one-on-one podcast and vlog conversations with writers, as well as book-club style meet-up events, Lëtz Lit aims to strengthen cultural exchange, elevate Luxembourg literature to a wider audience and create bridges with literary voices from abroad.

Our encounter with Fann Attiki has shown us the profound impact that literature has in connecting people and enriching collective understanding. With renewed purpose and the lessons learned from this inaugural experience, we look forward to building a dynamic literary platform that brings readers, writers and stories together in meaningful ways.
